Lang geleden dat we hier nog eens over de "Belgianfirewall" hebben geblogd, de klunzige poging van onze politici om via filtering iets te doen aan illegale zaken op het internet. Zoals ik zal blijven herhalen, filters werken niet, ze zijn contraproductief en uiteindelijk worden ze toch misbruikt voor andere doeleinden dan de oorspronkelijke intentie.
Vanuit Duitsland bereikt ons nu hoopgevend nieuws. Ook daar had men onder het mom van "strijd tegen internetpedofilie" een wet gestemd die het internet verplicht ging laten filteren door de politie, naar het schijnt zelfs zonder dat er een rechter voor moest tussenkomen. Deze wet wordt normaal gezien vandaag van kracht.
Gelukkig zijn er ondertussen verkiezingen en coalitiewissels geweest in Duitsland en zijn er blijkbaar een aantal politici die het licht gezien hebben. Er zou waarschijnlijk deze week al een wetsvoorstel komen om het ding weer af te schaffen... Laat ons hopen dat dit nieuwe voorstel het haalt!
Inderdaad alweer een tijdje geleden ja maar we hebben een nieuwtje voor je alhoewel we eerst maar eens moeten afwachten of het woord van Minister Reynders ook daadwerkelijk uitgevoerd zal worden maar het begin is er..
